8000-year tradition
A full Fall menu in one box, from the first course to the main course.
Fall food has deep flavors, and these six Georgian wines go with them. We chose each bottle for the foods of the season: elk, venison, duck, pheasant, and a good steak. Serve each wine with the dishes you already make for these meats.
In the box:
- 2× Saperavi 2019. Blackberry and red currant, with bright acidity and a light touch of vanilla. The acidity cuts through rich meat. Serve it with venison medallions, seared duck breast with cherry sauce, or grilled steak.
- 1× Saperavi 2020. Dark cherry and mulberry, with smooth tannins and a silky finish with a light touch of smoky oak. Serve it with elk with juniper, braised venison, or a ribeye from the fire.
- 1× Kisi-Rkatsiteli 2021. Fresh apricot, citrus zest, and a light touch of chamomile, with a clean, mineral finish. Open this bottle first. Serve it with smoked trout, goat cheese, roast squash soup, or pheasant with apple and sage.
- 2× Mtsvane 2021 (Qvevri). An amber wine aged in qvevri, the clay vessels of Georgian tradition. It has the structure to go with game birds and earthy flavors. Serve it with roast pheasant, duck with root vegetables, or wild mushroom dishes.
Why this set: It covers the full meal. The Kisi-Rkatsiteli goes with the first course, the Mtsvane goes with the game birds, and the three Saperavis go with the red meats. That makes it a good set for a Fall dinner party or a game-season gathering, or a good gift.
